Motorcycle Luggage & Bags for Riding and Travel

Motorcycle luggage requires a different design approach from ordinary travel bags because the product must remain stable while exposed to vibration, wind, changing weather and continuous movement from the motorcycle.

Our development process begins by identifying the type of bag, intended motorcycle location, required storage volume and riding application. A compact commuter tail bag requires different dimensions and mounting points from an adventure saddlebag, touring tank bag or motorcycle tool roll.

Bag shape and capacity are developed around the available mounting area while considering rider movement, passenger space and access to motorcycle components. Saddlebags must avoid interference with the rear wheel, suspension and exhaust, while tank bags must allow normal handlebar movement and rider positioning.

Mounting systems can include adjustable webbing straps, quick-release buckles, hook-and-loop attachments, rack-compatible straps, magnetic systems or customer-specified hardware. Load-bearing areas are reinforced according to the intended carrying capacity.

Storage layouts can include main compartments, expandable sections, document pockets, mesh organisers, tool compartments, bottle holders and external accessory loops. Compression straps may also be incorporated to control bag movement when partially loaded.

Every prototype is reviewed for dimensions, storage capacity, mounting security, zipper access, load distribution and general functionality before bulk-production approval.


Materials & Load-Bearing Construction

Material selection affects the motorcycle bag's durability, weight, weather resistance, structure and appearance. Depending on the intended product, luggage can be manufactured using high-tenacity polyester, nylon, ripstop textiles, coated fabrics, synthetic leather, PVC tarpaulin and other technical materials.

Structured motorcycle luggage may use internal foam, polyethylene sheets or other support materials to help the bag maintain its shape. Lightweight and packable designs can use softer constructions where reduced weight is more important.

Weather-resistant luggage can incorporate coated outer materials, water-resistant zippers, storm flaps and protected seam layouts. Products requiring a higher level of water protection can use waterproof liners, roll-top closures, seam sealing or welded inner compartments depending on the selected materials.

Mounting straps, handles and other load-bearing points can be reinforced with additional textile layers, heavy-duty webbing, box stitching and bartacks. Areas that contact the motorcycle may use padded, non-slip or softer backing materials to help reduce movement and surface contact.

Saddlebags positioned near exhaust systems may incorporate heat-resistant or heat-reflective panels where appropriate. However, the mounting system must still provide sufficient clearance from hot components.

Reflective piping, panels and logos can also be incorporated for increased visibility. The final construction is developed according to the intended carrying capacity, riding environment, weather-protection requirement and target price.

Prototype development is recommended before bulk production so the customer can evaluate storage capacity, attachment security and practical functionality.

Standard production generally begins from 50 pieces per design. Final minimum order quantities depend on fabric availability, custom colours, waterproof construction, buckles, zippers, webbing, moulded parts and private-label requirements.

Sample development normally requires approximately 10–14 working days after the design, dimensions, materials and branding details have been confirmed. Products involving custom moulded hardware, welded waterproof construction or specially developed materials may require additional development time.

After sample approval, production includes material inspection, pattern preparation, cutting, reinforcement application, pocket and compartment assembly, lining installation, webbing preparation, zipper and buckle installation, branding and finishing.

Quality-control checks include dimensions, stitching, zipper operation, buckle function, mounting-strap construction, compartment layout and branding placement. Water-resistant or waterproof products can also be checked according to the agreed specification and test method.

Completed motorcycle luggage is packed according to the customer’s private-label requirements and prepared for worldwide export.
