Motorcycle Urban Gloves for Daily City Riding 

Motorcycle urban gloves are developed for riders who need everyday hand protection without the bulk, long gauntlets or aggressive styling associated with racing and touring gloves. They are commonly designed for commuting, scooter riding, short-distance travel and casual motorcycle use.

Our development process begins by defining the intended climate, target rider, preferred styling and protection requirements. Patterns are engineered around the natural hand position used when holding motorcycle handlebars. Pre-curved fingers and carefully shaped thumbs help reduce material bunching while operating the throttle, brake and clutch controls.

Finger length, palm width, thumb rotation and wrist opening must be correctly balanced to provide a secure fit without restricting movement. Stretch panels, flexible finger gussets and articulated knuckle areas may be incorporated to improve mobility and everyday comfort.

Urban gloves generally use a short-cuff construction that fits comfortably beneath or over the sleeve of a casual riding jacket. Closure systems can include hook-and-loop wrist straps, elasticated openings, zipper closures or combinations of these features.

Additional options include touchscreen-compatible fingertips, discreet knuckle protectors, reflective logos, perforated panels, pull tabs and reinforced grip zones. Every prototype is evaluated for fit, grip sensitivity, finger movement, wrist security and ease of use before bulk-production approval.


Materials & Protection 

Urban motorcycle gloves must balance lightweight comfort, abrasion resistance, flexibility and discreet protective construction. Depending on the product specification, gloves can be manufactured using goatskin, cowhide, synthetic leather, stretch textiles, softshell materials, breathable mesh or hybrid combinations.

Goatskin may be used where softness, flexibility and control sensitivity are important. Cowhide can provide a stronger and more structured construction, while technical textiles and mesh can help reduce weight and improve ventilation in warm conditions.

The palm may include additional leather layers, abrasion-resistant fabric, synthetic reinforcement or grip overlays in selected high-wear areas. Reinforcement placement is carefully controlled to avoid excessive thickness around the handlebars and motorcycle controls.

Protective options include low-profile moulded knuckle shells, flexible finger protection, palm sliders, scaphoid reinforcement and impact-absorbing foam. TPU, TPR, carbon-look materials and other customer-approved components can be used according to the intended product position.

Construction options include reinforced seams, double-layer palms, bartacks at stress points, flexible finger panels and secure wrist-retention systems. Perforated leather, ventilation holes and breathable fabric sections can be incorporated for warm-weather use.

The final material combination is selected according to the intended climate, required flexibility, protection objective, retail price and certification target.

Standard production generally begins from 50 pairs per design. The final minimum order quantity depends on leather and fabric availability, colour combinations, moulded components, custom trims, branding and packaging requirements.

Sample development normally takes approximately 10–14 working days after the design, sizing, materials and branding details have been confirmed. Newly developed protector moulds, custom hardware or specially sourced materials may require additional time.

After sample approval, production includes leather and fabric inspection, panel cutting, reinforcement preparation, protector installation, stitching, closure assembly, branding application and finishing.

Completed gloves are checked for sizing consistency, seam quality, finger movement, knuckle alignment, wrist retention, touchscreen operation and left-to-right matching. They are then paired, packed according to the customer’s private-label requirements and prepared for worldwide export.
