Custom Motorcycle Accessory Development

Every custom motorcycle accessory project begins by defining the intended riding application, target customer, materials, dimensions and required functionality. Customers can provide complete technical packs, reference products, measurement specifications, artwork or an initial concept.

Development requirements vary significantly between product categories. Base layers require close attention to stretch, seam placement and moisture management, while mid-layers focus on insulation distribution and compatibility beneath protective outerwear. Rainwear requires over-garment pattern allowances, waterproof construction and secure closures.

Motorcycle luggage requires consideration of storage capacity, mounting systems, reinforcement points and weather protection. Kidney belts require controlled elasticity, lumbar coverage and adjustable compression, while balaclavas must maintain comfort and low seam bulk beneath a motorcycle helmet.

Where an accessory is intended to integrate with another Glaze product, dimensions and functional components can be coordinated during development. For example, internal protectors can be matched with garment armour pockets, while mid-layers can be developed around the fit of an outer motorcycle jacket.

Motorcycle Accessory Materials & Functional Construction
Motorcycle accessories require different materials and construction methods according to their intended purpose. Technical apparel accessories can use moisture-wicking polyester, polyamide, elastane, fleece, stretch softshell, coated textiles, mesh and insulated fabrics.


Base layers and balaclavas typically prioritise stretch, breathability and moisture management, while mid-layers can combine thermal insulation with flexible panels to provide warmth without unnecessary bulk.

Rainwear can use coated polyester, nylon, laminated waterproof materials, sealed seams and protected closure systems. Motorcycle luggage can incorporate high-tenacity polyester, nylon, coated textiles, reinforced webbing, internal support materials and weather-resistant compartments.

Kidney belts may combine elastic textiles, spacer mesh, neoprene, foam and flexible support components. Internal motorcycle protectors can use impact-absorbing polymer or foam constructions depending on the intended protection target.

Functional elements including reflective applications, custom straps, waterproof zippers, hook-and-loop closures, stretch panels, moulded components and branded hardware can be incorporated according to the product specification.
